Sailing
Sailing
In another life
I wait
For your return
War captures more than
Land on a map
I waved to you from the dock
But you turned
To face the ship's bridge
You were more than
A sailor to me
You were a boy who helped me
Carry the groceries
And asked me how my day was
I realize
Our lives are a riddle
The pieces, we put together
In the dark
And the last piece
Shimmering in the moonlight
Lies out of reach
Floating on the crest
Of a glorious
Wave
